How S.A.V.E.R.S saved my morning ?

Goals are about doing the ‘right’ thing and not the ‘easy’ thing.

Many people are reverting to their old self.  Well, it is not easy to sustain goals and to hold yourself accountable. Honestly, it is much easier to keep others accountable than to hold yourself accountable. Programming a mind that is creative with different forms of excuses gets tiring on some days, and you decide that “Hey, maybe this is not for me.” Your discipline is wailing and slowly raising the white flag.

Recently, I read a book called the Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. “Miracle” is beautiful but it is hard work.  One of my many goals includes a morning routine that you require at least 60 minutes (personally I am trying to stretch it to 90 minutes) to do it properly called S.A.V.E.R.S. 

Silence: Spend your first five mins in prayer and meditation. Thank your mind for waking up, appreciate your Affirmations: Spend 5 min reminding yourself of your purpose and your goals. We spend our day listening to what people have to say about us, but we forgot who we are and who we are becoming or moving towards. body from the first breath you take. Spend your first few minutes in Gratitude and life will happen for you, not to you.

Visualization: To reinforce your purpose and goals, visualise it. Use you’re all of your senses, your Sight, Hearing, Taste, Smell and Touch. Sit there and visualise your day and your future. Many millennials cannot sit, they instead move. If you do not have an end in mind, no matter how much you do, you will do it mindlessly. Always do it mindfully, and fulfilment will follow.

Exercise: Get your body moving, get your blood pumping. Your body is your mind, and your mind is your body. If either fails, it will lead to devastating results. Exercise for 20 min, learn about your body. Love your body, and it will love you back.

Reading: “A person who won’t read has no advantage over one who can’t read.” – Mark Twain. His words, not mine. If you read 15 min a day, you accumulate about 15 pages on average. In 2 weeks, you read 210 pages which are the average of the majority of the self-development book, and that will be 24 books over a year. Do you think you will improve? Of course, you will!

Scribbling: it is writing in a Journal for  10 min. I have a habit of keeping a journal since I was a kid, but was never consistent until recently. I am stubborn, but at my core, I have a positive attitude towards life, at the end of 2017 I was in a bad state. I would talk to different people for hours (thank you friends !), but no action was taken. Finally, I took the time forced myself to sit in a cafe and wrote for an hour, and I threw all of my thoughts on the paper. At the end of the session, something inside me shifts. I gained strength and clarity.I was ready again, ready to face all of my problems minor or major.

I am committed to spend minimum of 1.5 hours daily on my morning routine for self-development in 2018.

Today is the 2nd week of my miracle morning which I reserve my mornings to do the right thing, to be proactive in my first waking moment.

Everyone wants something, and they wish the best. They start their year setting the best goals being in their peak state and is grateful for their life, but within two weeks they return to their old self. We face the same resistance that we face in 2017, 2016, 2015… and every single year regretting and then setting that same old goal the next year. But now, I am ready. Why? Because I choose to be ready.

I want to empower myself by mindfully choosing to create the best day of my life every day by being proactive and assertive. I choose and am responsible for my life.
